‘Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering’ Department
Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.
I. Name :
The name of this student association is “Ambidexter of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.” (in short : Ambidexter of E.T.E. )
II. Objectives :
The major objectives of this association are :
i. To store & provide student’s all kind of information of Electronics & Telecommuncation Engineering department of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.
ii. To build up better relationship with all other departments of BRUR.
iii. To make the necessary arrangements for the cordial reception of new batch’s students each year.
iv. To attend various occasions including the followings with the maximum presence of the students of E.T.E. department :
a) 21st February (Mohan Shahid Dibas)
b) 26th March (Mohan Sadhinata Dibas)
c) 14th April (Pahela Baishakh)
d) 16th December (Mohan Bijay Dibas)
e) Ifftar Party
f) Year Farewell Party
v. To take subsidiary Model Examination based on various courses of different semesters.
vi. To keep a record of all lectures during any semester of the corresponding lecturer.
vii. To educate members on Job seeking skills.
viii. To develop Leadership skills.
ix. To develop a sense of individual responsibilities for the society.
x. To provide social and recreational activities.
xi. To mentally support the members to overcome their problems.
xii. To take steps for keeping department’s floor, classroom, Lab etc neat & clean.
xiii. To financially help the members who are both meritorious & poor to------
a) continue their study, b) support medically.
III. Membership :
All students of ‘Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering’ department of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur must be the member of the association “Ambidexter of E.T.E.” if he/she maintains the membership rules.
**Any member will hold his/her membership if and only if :
i. He/She is a student of E.T.E. department of BRUR of regular category in undergraduate, graduate or post graduate programmes.
ii. He or She does not contribute to any terrorist organization.
iii. He or She pays the regular subscriptions.
**The membership of a member will be automatically cancelled if :
i. Any student successfully completes his or her academic career in E.T.E. department in BRUR then the student will be considered as an inactive member of the association.
ii. Any member involves him/herself with any unfair activities that is against the association’s interest.
IV. Leadership :
The committee members of “Ambidexter of E.T.E.” shall be the President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and the Executive Members.
The honorable Vice-Chancellor will be the Chief Adviser and the honorable Teachers of ETE department will be the advisers according to the incumbency.
**The duties of the President shall include :
i. Co-ordinating and Chairing all meetings.
ii. Calling emergency meetings.
iii. Acting as the chief spokesperson of the association.
iv. Establishing an effective relationship with the other departments and their associations of
Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.
**The duties of the Vice President shall include:
i. Assisting the President with the fulfillment of his/her duties.
ii. Providing support for the development of the association activities planned by the committee.
iii. Working with the Treasurer to establish budget for committee which is created.
**The duties of the Secretary shall include:
i. Making minute-books for all meetings.
ii. Ensuring that all changes of committee members are reported to the appropriate
executive committee of the association.
iii. Working with the Vice President to establish budget for committee which is created.
**The duties of the Joint Secretary:
i. Joint secretary helps the secretary for his/her activities.
**The duties of the Treasurer shall include:
i. Keeping a record of all financial transactions.
ii. Working with the President to establish budget for committee which is created.
iii. Maintaining detailed membership records, including the amount of fees collected from each member.
**The duties of the Executive members:
i. Attend all meetings and performs regularly according to their duties for the betterment of the E.T.E. department.
V. Membership Fees & Subscriptions :
i. All members of “Ambidexter of E.T.E.” must pay Tk 500 for 1 financial year to the Treasurer. Members who pay the subscription shall be considered as “Active Member”.
ii. Only active members may participate in various activities.
VI. Elections :
i. The active members will elect the President each year for the association.
ii. The other Committee members (Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer) of the association shall be nominated and elected from each batch of the department by a majority vote of the active members. The election will be held under an Election Commission consisting of minimum 3 members.
ii. If any member of the committee resigns his position, a special election will be held at the next regular meeting of the association to fill that position.
iii. The committee will select the Executive Members for each batch.
iv. If any member is not performing his/her predefined duties, the Committee, with a majority vote may impeach that member.
VII. Meetings :
i. The Committee members shall meet at least 1 time per month. A listing of meeting dates shall be established by the Secretary of the committee.
ii. In the event that an emergency meeting of the association needs to be held, the President of the association has the authority to call such meetings and at least 10 hours notice must be provided to all committee members by any communication process. Communication of emergency meetings will be the responsibility of the Secretary.
iii. Additional meetings may be called (when necessary) by the President.
iv. No meeting shall be held during the Semester Final & Mid Semester examinations.
VIII. Use of Funds :
i. All disbursements of funds must be approved by the Treasurer, President and three other committee members.
ii. Any expenditure in excess of Tk 500 must be approved by a majority of the committee members.
iii. The collected money will be expended in various sectors according to the budget of the association.
iv. It will be the Treasurer’s responsibility to inform the active members about the expenditure after any occasion.
IX. Future Plans :
In near future, the association will perform the following tasks:
i. Providing Stipend for the poor meritorious student of the E.T.E. department of BRUR and stipulating that expenditure according to the budget.
ii. Taking outsourcing project and finishing properly, it will develop the association’s fund.
iii. Arranging open seminars of various communication types.
X. Changes to the Constitution :
The constitution shall be reviewed every semester by the President of the association. If any changes are needed, the President can make said changes, but must get approval from the two – third members of the committee. The changed constitution will take effect at the first meeting of the next month.
